Sports Team Affiliations

Beginning in 2003, Dr. Rudzki had the privilege of working along mentors at Washington University in St. Louis learning the art and science of caring for professional athletes through his work with the St. Louis Cardinals, Blues, and Rams. This exposure further cultivated his love off sports medicine and enabled him to engage not only in patient care, but in research related to injuries in professional athletes. He then worked with New York Mets as a fellow on the Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service of the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Greater experience and responsibility for clinical care was accompanied by opportunities for research leading to publications about caring for the complex spectrum of injuries that affect the elite overhead athlete and specifically, Internal Impingement. Simultaneously he worked with colleagues to study adaptations of the shoulder socket or glenoid in response to the stresses of overhead throwing. Upon returning to his native Washington, DC in 2006, Dr. Rudzki began working with the Nationals, Capitals, Mystics, and Wizards as well as providing support and coverage for various sporting events and local high school teams. Collectively, these experiences enable Dr. Rudzki to combine a high level of training with a broad range of experience to care for each athlete as an individual and help them find the safest, most reliable means of returning to the sport they love with the best medical evidence and the latest techniques.
